When ready, come stand by me
I'm done greiving over the loss that the United States faced a few days ago. I am still scared but theres nothing like a little fear to wake you up! It has filled me with determination to try to help where I can. Our trans brothers, sisters, and non binary pals are all in danger, so what are we going to do about it? We come together and stand strong of course! In the past when minority groups have been pursecuted for simply existing, they would come together and support each other. We can do the same!
We don't have to live in fear and be near suicidal when we have each other and find community within that! I know it might sound bougie but moving to a blue state with the support of each other is not as bougie as people would like to make it out to be. It is realistic if everyone who can actually pitches in to help the rest! Our survival is a group effort, not just the effort of one individual. You all inspired me to make this blog post in the first place!
Join my group!
I made a group called NoobsAndNerds that originally started as a tech oriented group meant to teach people about the techie stuff me and CapPoot have learned but I have since turned it into a safe haven for LGBTQIA+ Folk! Join us so we can form a community where we support eachother mentally and physically.
Make your own Communities and join others!
My group isn't the only one, there are plenty of other supportive groups out there willing to help and talk! Pay attention for these because they can be spotted in a lot of unsuspecting places online. If you feel like you want to help by making your own community too, DO IT!!! Don't hesistate on this one!
Find people offline!
There are communities that you can probably find in person that could possibly be an even bigger help to you. I know I am trying my best with my own group but I also understand that the human brain can be fickle and being able to physically see someone that you are connected to makes a big difference.
